Consultation

Your treatment begins with a consultation with the Radiation Oncologist. (Approximately one hour.)

Treatment Planning

The next appointment is for treatment planning (simulation) and involves verifying the area(s) that will receive radiation treatment. (Approximately one hour.)

Daily Treatments

Radiation therapy treatments are usually given five days per week for 2–8 weeks. (Approximately 20–30 minutes.)

Weekly Evaluations

Weekly evaluations usually take place on the same day each week following your treatment.

Follow-up

Your follow-up care will include checking the results of your treatment, but it may also involve more cancer treatment, rehabilitation, and counseling.
