Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)

• The Elekta Synergy IGRT system used by Radiation Oncologists integrates radiation delivery and imaging technologies into a highly efficient/accurate treatment system
• Combines a digital linear accelerator with a CT scanner
• Effectively addresses internal organ and tumor motion
• By cat scanning patients on a daily basis, tumors can be treated with 1-2 mm accuracy and side effects to critical organs can be minimized by reducing the radiation field size
